Nancy Pelosi, meet Lord Acton

Our U.S. Constitution remains the Supreme Law of the Land, even as Obama and most members of Congress are violating it with impunity, planning a fascist takeover of our healthcare industry.
Not that Obama is a pope, or Barney Frank a king (a queen, maybe?) but Lord Acton, in an April 1887 letter reminded us that men of influence (industry) as well as men in office tend to grow more wicked as they climb the ladder of notoriety. At AmericaAgain! this is a bedrock lesson of human nature.
"I cannot accept…that we are to judge Pope and King unlike other men, with a favorable presumption that they did no wrong. If there is any presumption it is the other way, against the holders of power, increasing as the power increases… Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men, even when they exercise influence and not authority: still more when you [add] the tendency or certainty of corruption by full authority. There is no worse heresy than the fact that the office sanctifies the holder of it."
